Through projects that integrated statistical analyses into multidisciplinary human rights work, we engaged in the public debate about human rights violations in Colombia. First, in partnership with Colombian NGO Corporación Punto de Vista, we assessed a methodology for studying conflict-related sexual violence in the country.

Benetech's newest project is a software tool called Miradi that helps environmental practitioners design, manage, monitor and learn from their projects to more effectively meet the needs of global biodiversity. This response is a measure of how eager the environmental field is for a tool that helps better manage projects.

Human rights activists there operate in a dangerous climate and it is important that they be trained and supported with the very best tools. Since many Afghan NGOs are still in early stages of their documentation efforts, this was a significant opportunity to help groups as they develop and implement best practices.
