Although not bad behavior per se, it’s at least gauche to ask others to financially support a cause that you don’t—and part of being a board member means generating funds through networking. This proved to be a wonderful way to share nationally AbilityFirst’s empowerment philosophy. After five years, we finally balanced the budget.
