The average life span of a cell phone, however, is only 18 months , so a single battery should last the lifetime of a mobile phone. It is mined mainly in Chile and there are also large deposits in Bolivia.

We brought a group of ten environmental justice lawyers from throughout North America to work in partnership with grassroots women leaders in Bolivia, with the focus on sustainable agriculture and food security issues.

I realize now that it wasn't an accident, this life journey. They wanted more training in-depth, and they wanted to really learn how to use all these different tools to get ahead in life and advance their dreams. I love to live life large, but I also work very hard. So, we started this program. Last year we piloted it, in 2009.
