Well, Chris Waters of the Nomad Cafe in Oakland not only thought about it, he made it happen. Nomad is a statewide waste reduction award winner, through the California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB). Both of those laws passed and are now in effect. And as Britt said, I also am the Art and Media Director at the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights , which is based out of Oakland. The homicide rate, as people are probably aware of, has just really increased in the last few years in Oakland, where I live. We have four initiatives.
