These are exciting times for everyone who’s been working to meet the accessibility imperative, as we are witnessing global movements that will increase accessible publishing and create new and better opportunities for people with disabilities. In my talk, I highlighted three global movements towards increasing accessible publishing.

Literacy and access to knowledge underpins just about every social good, from education, to economic development, to health, to women’s empowerment, democracy and respect for human rights. Together with the World Blind Union and other campaigners, we set out to get a global treaty that would not only replicate the U.S.

And even as these dire consequences are known, child labour has increased globally to 160 million. Governments should embrace internationally recognised fundamental rights at work including ending forced labour, discrimination at work, respecting workers’ right to freely choose representation and ensuring safe and healthy working conditions.

Women and girls in particular have felt the impacts of a never-ending global health pandemic, conflict and displacement, and authoritarian government takeovers, to name a few. In addition, female athletes globally have faced abuse and harassment from the very people who are charged with coaching and supporting them to succeed.

She has co-authored publications on fair taxation, housing and the racial wealth divide. military policies globally, not just what's happening with women domestically. We are based in Oakland, but we do work nationally, and in many cases globally, but our funding is always under constraints. So, that was quite inspirational.
