In DC, I worked half-time for NASA as an electrical engineer and half-time for the Capital Children's Museum (now defunct) as a science educator. Articulate what you can do for your organization, not what you can do generally. So I packed up and moved down the East Coast. I made $26/hour at NASA and $7.25/hour hour at the Museum.
