This summer, we opened two exhibitions at my museum that are highly relevant to local culture. Princes of Surf is about the young Hawaiian princes who brought surfing to the Americas 130 years ago--relevant because they did it in Santa Cruz, with boards shaped from local wood, on waves I bike by every week. Killer content.

It's also interesting to note that, according to Wikipedia, Hawaii, New Mexico, California and Texas are already majority-minority states. In addition, the study found that Executive Directors of color mostly lead local or regional organizations, not national organizations. These percentages are even worse for nonprofit boards!
