TechSoup's Refurbished Computer Initiative (RCI) has supplied more than 65,000 pieces of IT equipment to nonprofits and libraries in the last 10 years. Back in 2006, we started the RCI program to supply charities and libraries with good, low-cost warrantied computers that would stand the test of time.

Like any nonprofit, we like to take advantage of the product donations that are on offer for charities, churches, foundations, and libraries. It allows staff to view and reorganize documents in folders on individual laptops and then sync changes to the Box online platform. We are currently using nine licenses, with more planned.

Lots of refurbishers around the world supply PCs to nonprofit training labs, libraries, and telecenters. The RRP program supplies very low-cost Microsoft Windows and Office licensing for nearly anyone fixing up used PCs. The RRP program recently added Windows MultiPoint Server 2011 Premium to its roster of citizenship licenses.
