Danielle Brigida from NWF presented a case study on Digg and StumbleUpon. It took her 7 months to establish relationships in the Digg community sufficiently to get good results (ie, popular stories). The IdeaExchange and related programs use a Digg -like interface to allow users to promote preferred suggestions. Many staff react against this, saying that curation is the museum's job and shouldn't be reduced to a popularity contest.
