I made it to the 1000K level for United, in part, due to too many International trips, including teaching a master class and workshop session at the IFC-Asia in Bangkok, teaching a workshop in Brasil for Ford Motor Company Leadership Fellowship Program, and Tech2Empower in Peru.

Current offers TV time; Sunlight Foundation and moveon.org ran contests for the best ads, with Sunlight offering cash prizes. The video producers, a husband/wife team, started their company after doing some volunteer work in Peru with CARE. Exposure can be a motivation. Contests can work too, the Crooks and Liars was mentioned.

We are also in discussions in Peru, in Burkina Faso, and in Botswana as well. I am working with a foundation right now trying to plan out our Africa initiative for the remainder of the year. I don't currently take a salary from The Press Institute, and this office is entirely staffed by volunteers.

and "Let's call that person, figure out if they'll volunteer to do that, put it down on paper, get the designers to bang it out, see if it works, and throw it out to the community." Most of our staff did start as a volunteer; about 90 percent of our staff started as volunteers. I am very much a social entrepreneur.
