If you are in charge of communications for your nonprofit or NGO, I recommend you read The She Spot: Why Women Are the Market for Changing the World, and How to Reach Them by Lisa Witter and Lisa Chen. Women don't think making fun of other people is funny. And I would say, "I don't think it's funny." That's not what we think is funny.

While direct mail may be declining in some markets since its heyday in the 90s it is still an effective form of direct communication to raise funds and the NGO brand. That’s junk mail, and, yes, it should be eliminated for economic as well as environmental reasons. (6)
