You do not need to be an “artist” to make a postcard, but each participant is surprised and delighted by their creativity and to see that their cards contain colors, words and images that reflect their strongest selves. Britt Bravo: In so many of the groups you profiled, the women were using the arts for education, empowerment, or healing. PG: I think that the one that comes to mind first is a wonderful picture of women in Kenya who are growing corn. BB: What advice do you have for artists who want to use their art for social change?
