A massive expansion of service is required to meet today’s challenges.

Although the Public Allies program is also a nonprofit leadership program just like the degree and certificate program and is all under the ASU Lodestar Center, Public Allies is a national program under AmeriCorps first. Something that does not differ between the programs is the intense and powerful emphasis on integrity and collaboration.

She has also recently served a term with AmeriCorps, leading a team of environmental education volunteers. Prior to coming to Care2, Emily worked as a features reporter for a newspaper in San Luis Obispo, CA. A life-long activist, she had volunteered with the Progressive Student Alliance, Amnesty International and Sierra Club.
