We had 15 teams from throughout West Africa coming to learn appropriate water technologies from West African women trainers, who are experts in these types of skills. They also learned business development skills. MK: One of the highlights for me was the Global Peers program. From that point, my path shifted. This is a tradition.

I think that we need to look at the root causes for why people wind up in exploitative situations, no matter what they are, and to say that someone who is a victim of labor exploitation and trafficking deserves equal voice with someone who has had a different experience. I think that we hold tremendous power in our hands.
