” The conference marked the end of an 18-month capacity building program that trained more than 220 NGOs in Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia on how to use social media effectively to advance civil society. In addition, there was live translation in both languages. We were assigned specific seats at the VIP table.

The highlight of third day was a VIP Lunch with project sponsors, implementation team, and remote participation via skype from members of the In-Country teams in Jordan and Morocco. To augment efforts to increase the amount of Arabic-language content online by making it easier to use and read Arabic online.

One year ago, on June 28, 2013, at a diplomatic conference in Marrakesh, Morocco, the World Intellectual Property Organization ( WIPO ) agreed on a historic international copyright exception for people with print disabilities. Thus far, more than 75 countries have signed the Treaty, and in June India became the first country to ratify it.

The print book doesn’t work for people who are blind, partially sighted, dyslexic, have physical limitations, people who haven’t learned to read, or people who can’t read the particular language of a specific book is written in. Just three years ago, negotiators from around the world converged on Marrakesh, Morocco, to hash out a final deal.

In the morning, we did a team building exercise to better understand the network core, the in-country teams from Yemen, Morocco, Lebanon, Tunisia, and Jordan. For example,we agreed that we could quote those who are tweeting and have open accounts, but our tweets would not attribute quotes.
