And the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum won Best Video Storytelling with “ Yes, That’s My Father “, a stirring narrative about history, memory, and personal closure. The 2012 Nonprofit Technology Conference (NTC) was the 12th conference that I have attended (it had earlier reiterations).

The First Wave includes 6 museums, 5 performing arts organizations, 3 public libraries, 3 parks, and 3 community centers. The Change Network program launches next week in prototype form with a First Wave of twenty organizations (full list at the end of this post). Half are led by people of color or indigenous people.

Last week, I was in Minneapolis for the American Association of Museums annual meeting. Kathleen McLean led a terrific session called "Dangerous Ridiculous" about risk-taking in museums. Interestingly, at my museum, our team is naturally better at ridiculous than we are at dangerous. I found this idea really powerful.
