Global Empowerment Mission has already deployed one ship full of supplies to Haiti and is continuing to raise funds to aid in their distribution efforts. Our work started by focusing on long term empowerment projects. One of our first programs is our culinary school in Port-Au-Prince, which helps train aspiring chefs from Haiti and give them the skills they need to obtain jobs in Haiti’s growing tourism industry. It was from that experience that World Central Kitchen was born.

It's an amazing act of love really in response to the hurricane and the racial neglect that occurred down on the Gulf. This last fall we produce a CD called Eye of the Storm which has been an amazing project, just the creativity and the generosity of the artists who participated on this CD still blows my mind.
