Global Empowerment Mission has already deployed one ship full of supplies to Haiti and is continuing to raise funds to aid in their distribution efforts. Our work started by focusing on long term empowerment projects. For the past 5 or 6 years we've had a small but steady group of supporters who are primarily invested in our empowerment projects. We had over 20,000 volunteers in Puerto Rico alone, most of whom were Puerto Ricans who had been impacted by the hurricane themselves.

It's an amazing act of love really in response to the hurricane and the racial neglect that occurred down on the Gulf. This last fall we produce a CD called Eye of the Storm which has been an amazing project, just the creativity and the generosity of the artists who participated on this CD still blows my mind.
