South by Southwest reinforced the true value of connecting like-minded groups in person — particularly in our field. Some may exist solely online. And am I ever energized.

This year I took off a full two weeks during the holiday, spending time with family on the Big Island on a coffee farm and mostly offline. The Sun Sets on 2014. I also was a guest lecturer for a Berkeley MBA Class on networks. Learning has kept me inspired and improving what I do. But, it isn’t just about learning new techniques.

That way, we were able to take the kids directly from the classroom and walk them down to the clinic to make sure we have 100% of students actually able to get to their mental health appointment.
