Heather McCown of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn kicked off the idea of restoring ferry service from Brooklyn to Manhattan , as it is a more environmentally-sound and significantly faster commute to lower Manhattan than driving or taking the bus. The rest is history, but in the next few weeks, the story was in several local newspapers and blogs.
