For me, it's the beginning of chapter 8, in which J. Barrie gives lovely instructions on how to close your eyes, squeeze tight, and conjure the Mermaid's Lagoon. William Goldman does something similar with The Princess Bride, commenting about dreadfully dull chapters he has omitted for the reader's sanity. A ticking crocodile?

I would solicited a few respected colleagues directly to review either the entire manuscript or a specific chapter, based on their expertise and availability. I decided to take a two-pronged approach. This was a solo activity.
