Use video, audio, or text--all work well. Capture presentations made during the event with live embedded audio and share them on a tool like Slideshare after the event. Set up an event wiki. Wikis can take the shape of the event and its participants and range from more to less formal.

High bandwidth version on screencast.com Screencast Wiki. So that left me with a few hours of video and audio to edit and that's too much to do in Camtasia. Because the screencast is conversational, the screen doesn't have to exactly synch the audio. I also had to edit down the screencapture to match the audio length.

This is interesting to me because Second Life is quite the opposite - there is a huge investment in learning the tools, there is no audio (although that is changing) and it is all visual. Using a chat room to collectively take notes, or a wiki to evolve the agenda and take notes during a meeting. Co-editing WHILE discussing a document.
