In-world speakers from nonprofits who spoke about their work included Evonne Heyning from Camp Darfur, Barry Joseph from Global Kids , Lori Bell from the Library Alliance , and Marc Sirkin from LLS. I also turned off my audio. Both events had their share of clunkiness. that didn't last long or ruin the event.

In this photo, Tyler is listening to a book from Bookshare.org on his school's laptop with the assistance of the Kurzweil 3000 audio software. Our newest human rights project is looking closely at the human rights challenges in Darfur. The Corte Madera School now uses Bookshare.org books in a range of classes for disabled students.

Virtual worlds are a communication medium in which people use avatars (animated characters) to interact and have shared experiences in a 3D environment. The Exploratorium did the solar eclipse, and the US Holocaust Memorial Museum is doing all kinds of programs around Darfur. How would you define virtual worlds? Use the phone?
