My business hadn't made any money in months. I work with a medicine woman from Oakland. We have these little 29 Gift cards that people would tie onto the flowers, and she actually made a couple vases full of those, and took them into a local coffee shop. Now there are organized events happening locally. I was broke.

Maybe you're going to give money. So, if you see Van speak, our goal is to have a place that you can plug in, a local leader who says, "Come to my house." If he wants to do a political campaign, he's going to say, "For the next 40 days, I want you to feed all of the homeless in Orange County." Their small group.

In addition to encouraging donations, North Shore Animal League also enables supporters to raise money on their behalf through an integrated Blackbaud peer-to-peer fundraising tool. And as Britt said, I also am the Art and Media Director at the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights , which is based out of Oakland. We have four initiatives.
