Yesterday I went to see Paul Rusesabagina speak, the man who inspired the movie, Hotel Rwanda. The talk was also sponsored by Facing History, Facing Ourselves , Human Rights Watch , the Museum of African Diaspora , Marines' Memorial Association , Bay Area Darfur Coalition , Amnesty International and Stacey's Independent Bookstore.

Our members envision a world in which the global community is willing and able to protect civilians from genocide and mass atrocities. It was being sponsored by the Genocide Intervention Network. We followed up a few weeks later and the Senator ended up becoming a major sponsor and a big supporter of the movement.
