I first read about Story House Belvédère on Jasper Visser’s excellent blog, The Museum of the Future. This small, startup cultural project in Rotterdam works directly and intimately with community members to share their stories. Story House Belvédère in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, is a magical place. But they were wrong.

North Carolina Museum of History 1988.39.4 I’m always amazed when my colleagues tell me that the biggest barrier they face to “opening up” the content at their museums is from registrars—the people who care for collection objects. Followers of Museum 2.0 To me, this seems both discouraging and ungenerous to visitors.

But next month, Britain Loves Wikipedia will commence--the third instance of a strange and fascinating collaborative project between museums and the Wikipedia community (Wikimedians).
