This morning I attended the MacArthur Foundation Digital Learning briefing that was taking place at the Natural History Museum in NYC. These are complex learning environments where young people are making decisions, learning and collaborating with peers, etc. It was the ultimate digital media multi-tasking experience.

Institutions like the Boston Children's Museum (which she helped lead in the 1970s) drew heavily from and worked in partnership with the "open classroom" movement to develop informal educational models that are interactive, open-ended, and individualized.
