If there are two groups giving money to the Sudan, for example, it would be great to know which one gets 90% of their funds there versus one that only gets 40%. Towards the end of the contest, it really became "viral" as more and more people linked to our Causes site.

I felt an emptiness inside, as a woman, that I wasn't hearing from the teachers that I wanted to about world issues. They came from Sudan, from Saudi Arabia, from all over, some of the most unheard places of the world. We are doing a media and speaking tour (November, 8-20) of three of our award winning women citizen journalists.

T he program works in Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Colombia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iraq, Kosovo, Nigeria, Rwanda and Sudan. Kennedy New Frontier Award in 2007.
