How I chose the nonprofits is that I have a basic set of criteria that I use as a litmus test when I audit nonprofits and their social media campaigns. A small selection of that criteria is as follows: Consistent use of a visually compelling square avatar across all social networks. and then studying and duplicating their methods.

Likely a sign of best practices to come, their donation pages simply ask for credit card information and an email address (not a mailing address) and have an extensive offering of different ways to donate. Facebook has the highest ROI and it is worth investing $100-500 in a test advertising campaign for your monthly giving program.

To test the theory, I recently ran a remarketing campaign on Facebook promoting my article, “ How To Get More Online Donations With Content Marketing.” I would recommend testing out some of the feature sets to maximize the success of your fundraising ideas. Without remarketing, only 8% will return to complete the purchase.

Not a big loss since they were filtered into a mail box that few ever visited, but it is worth noting that fans can now mail admins directly if you have enabled the functionality under Edit Page > Manage Permissions > Show “Message” Button. Chapter 5 :: Use the Colors of Your Avatar to Design Your Channel.
