Then I discovered the Internet and became the community builder for Arts Wire, an online network for artists that used a unix-based text conferencing system called Caucus. I was networking weaving between the offline/online.

I started blogging in 2003 about nonprofits and social media and started second blog about Cambodia, “Cambodia for Kids” after the arrival of my daughter, Sara and discovering that there was a vibrant community of bloggers in Cambodia. Here’s a video and blog post I wrote for Blogher back then.

Does anyone in the room identify as an artist, by any chance? I just want to dispel the myth that we are not activists and that we are not artists. When Sophia contacted me and asked if I would talk here, my first thought was, "You know, I could talk here, but I just know so many amazing women who have stories that I want to share."
