I was able to participate thanks in part to professional development grants from Arizona Commission on the Arts and Sigma Alpha Iota. In Europe, the government has traditionally been the primary supporter of culture, a model very different to ours in the US. In fact, I enjoyed Ms. Madison, earning a double major in music and French.
