That sort of information could be a newsletter sign up, a contact form that should be responded to, an online donation or an event registration. I know a lot of the free site tools, wikis like wetpaint.com, keep trying to move to become more social, and let the audience/membership interact more – that is definitely related.

You can set up web forms (for donations, event registration, etc.) If you have detailed info, please feel free to share in the comments. permissioning and integration with the user registration flow is probably the biggest holes in the Joomla integration. and have them be menu items.
