I had a brief conversation by email with Cory Doctorow , a science fiction author who is also a copyleft activist, who releases everything he writes with a CC license. He suggested, basically, find the publisher first, then talk about the license second. Flash (and, therefore, YouTube) is working, as is Java. Be Helpful.

At the end of 2020, internet browsers phased out Adobe Flash and many organizations needed to adjust their courses accordingly. This could mean a fully open-source environment, a desktop environment where only one person can edit the course at a time, or a cloud-based environment for collaborative authoring. Adobe Captivate.

So where visions of Flash games used to dance in my head, I’m now starting to fantasize about team-building, inclusion, and, of all things, Second Life. The Open Source Museum project at The Tech is a grant-funded grand experiment. This is happening very, very quickly.

There isn’t a mobile version yet, but there is something called Gimp Portable that fits on a flash drive that you can plug in to a Windows PC. is a free open source application. Inkscape is another free open-source program that does much of what Adobe Illustrator. It is not a cloud application.
