It opened up the question of what roles chefs can play in international development. Our work started by focusing on long term empowerment projects. For the past 5 or 6 years we've had a small but steady group of supporters who are primarily invested in our empowerment projects. We're currently active in 10 different countries.

Alli: Interesting question, like what is the road that gets us anywhere, I think they're always somewhat circuitous and unplanned. It's an amazing act of love really in response to the hurricane and the racial neglect that occurred down on the Gulf. Alli: A great question. I do think there's a lot of inspiring things.
