This year the award went to Nancy Jo Craig who runs the nonprofit Capital Area Corporate Recycling Council (CACRC) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. When she ran the Nature Conservancy in Louisiana, 200,000 acres were set aside. All of southern Louisiana had been hit. It was not an easy road for Nancy. It as a lucky thing they did.

Climate change is resulting in much more drastic natural disasters; crime rates and mass events that need emergency assistance only seem to be going up; and the fact that healthcare and public services are getting more complicated to navigate directly are putting a lot more emphasis on how callouts are triaged and handled.
