Today, in Milwaukee, the group has gone on to consider public safety, another issue that’s critical for restaurants. But COVID reinforced that lesson.

And in Milwaukee, while Black Americans are only 26 percent of the population, they account for an astounding 81 percent of the deaths there. In Michigan alone, Black Americans constitute 14 percent of the state’s population — but 40 percent of coronavirus deaths. These racial and ethnic disparities are stark but sadly not surprising.
