We purposely set a more conservative goal so that our staff could feel the motivating rush of achieving it, and then we could push to exceed the original goal. For people who you know can’t afford a large gift, make a more targeted ask that makes it easier to give. Using past campaigns as a benchmark, we set our goal at $50,000.

So what we do is we use bamboo, one, in a lot of our packaging, in a lot of our merchandising, and our racks, and our gift boxes, and as I'm sure a lot of people know, bamboo is an extremely abundant natural resource, and it re-grows. So that is pretty much, I would say, 90% of our gift boxes and our merchandising is bamboo.

We are going to use some of that money to train some of the young people in energy conservation, in renewable fuels. And the Democrats want to be the fiscal conservatives in 2008 who want to run against Bush's mega deficit. Oakland, among other places, sued, got a four-point-something million dollar settlement. And that costs money.
