In the meantime, nonprofit staff can prepare for the launch of the new brand pages, also known as Google+ Entity Profiles , by creating a Google Account and then setting up your personal Google Profile (which then also becomes your personal Google+ Profile when you get invited to join Google+ or the site comes out of beta).

With BuddyPress you can build member profiles, create user groups and activity streams and set up notification alerts and dedicated messaging. Social networking on Twitter and Instagram is controlled via custom widgets, and you can control most elements of the design including the background and the placement of your logo.

Avatars and links to profiles for Twitter-ers in the Community. And to top it off, they made the page at no cost , using free widgets, embeds and online tools – a great idea for something like a conference that tends to only be relevant for a select period of time.
