I went off to read Jane Jacobs [i] and William Whyte [ii] who both understood and wrote about the importance of strangers interacting with each other in public outdoor spaces. Then I stumbled upon The Great Good Place while browsing in my local library. Their seminal writing and research first took place in the 1960’s.
