We had surveyed an alternative high school and half the kids had said, “There’s no adult that I can talk to but I need to talk to somebody.” We don’t have the language to talk about drug abuse and really aren’t equipped to be able to help them live a healthier lifestyle and address chemical use directly.

We work primarily in the Washington, DC area and in Southeast Asia to promote programs that are addressing the root causes of human trafficking, and to provide sustainable alternatives to trafficking. It started out small. I think a lot more attention could be put on that. We are just looking for funding for it now.
