In the aftermath of Hurricanes Rita and Katrina , about 22% of total funding went to the American Red Cross (ARC). About 50% of funding at this point for Hurricane Harvey has gone to ARC. New questions have also arisen around disaster philanthropy in 2017, and lessons learned today can guide future response efforts.
