Leaders of the nonprofit declined to speak directly with The NonProfit Times but said in a statement that they have not yet received a formal union proposal to which they can respond. It was pretty biased and clearly an effort to scare people, though it seemed to have language in it so they weren’t breaking the law.

WIPO has a mandate from its member states, and is working to address the need to change laws and get more accessible books flowing. law works: the one that made Bookshare possible.

We’re against piracy, and have made commitments to authors and publishers to encourage compliance with copyright law. Let me give two specific examples that came up in my first conversation with a lawyer about the proposed bill: 1. Or file a DMCA notice. Now, apparently, we can file a counter-notice. Wonderful stuff.

Other Examples: An Annual Giving Campaign, like National Center for Youth Law did $10k for a new Alzheimer’s research project Raise $25,000 to fill a new school library. Prepare important campaign collateral like logos, graphics, photos, and more, and use an easy to access service like Dropbox or Box for file uploads, viewing, and sharing.
