Winner of the Creative Commons 2006 Photo Schwag Contest I believe in setting my content free. I use the " BY Attribution " creative commons license. I've used this license. I still sometimes see rather blank expressions when I ask about turning to CC licensed resources to find photos. It gets your work out there.

Last week when I blogged that won the Creative Commons flickr photo contest, the prize I got was Lessig's on my answering machine. In today's email, J Wynia, shared with me a tool he created with the Flickr API that lets me search for interesting photos that I can remix or use and automatically generates the attribution.

Since transparency is only one leg of the stool, San Francisco also sponsored an app development contest to get people involved in using the data for the public good.
