The organization has a staff of 40 across three offices (Washington DC, New York City, and Oakland, California). We use nonprofit, open-source Drupal to manage our main website. We use Yammer for internal team communications and collaboration. It requires very little maintenance.

Rather than NYSCI hosting Maker Faire within Flushing Meadows Park, we would make a partnership and really collaborate on the Faire. One of the attractions for this collaboration was NYSCI’s diverse audience, many of whom were not part of the current Maker Faire community. The World Maker Faire was bracketed by two related events.
