Unlike data alone, information carries meaning, relevance and utility. But what if I tell her in a language she doesn't understand? Joe Hellerstein, a computer scientist at the University of California in Berkeley, calls it 'the industrial revolution of data.' It's important that we don't confuse "data" for "information."
