We've been helping groups for many years with ways to have a little more influence and get a little more impact out of their online and offline events. Use video, audio, or text--all work well. Capture presentations made during the event with live embedded audio and share them on a tool like Slideshare after the event.

What are your most useful synchronous online facilitation practices?

This is interesting to me because Second Life is quite the opposite - there is a huge investment in learning the tools, there is no audio (although that is changing) and it is all visual. How might it influence your choice of using Second Life for a project? I posted a question on the educator listserv and there doesn't seem to be one.
