So, this means books, periodicals and other similar textual works, including audio versions of those titles. It covers music in the form of sheet music, but not audio or videos of performances. This is satisfied by having a law like the Chafee Amendment in the U.S., or similar laws in other countries like India and the EU.

As the operators of Bookshare in the USA, which was made possible through a great exception in our copyright law here, we would love to make all of our books available to people with qualifying disabilities around the world. It’s why the great majority of accessibility work is done by volunteers, charities, and with government support.

Counterproposals have been made, governments have been engaging with rights holders, consumers and NGOs (or not!) Government delegation, as a next step possibility. Libraries for people who are blind or dyslexic are the primary source of accessible books in audio, large print or braille. These ebooks can be instantly turned into the accessible format needed by the student with a disability, such as braille, enlarged print, or our most common format, audio through a computerized synthetic voice.

And the podcasts became an extension of that, because I realized I wanted to do interviews, and it was a great way to do the interviews and have them in an audio form for people who are interested in audio, and then also I get them transcribed and put them on the blog.
