BB: I read in one of your bios that you received a Fulbright grant to go to Rwanda and study the reconciliation process. It is like a dream come true.

That said, in 2012 I had the opportunity to travel to Africa and Asia and from those travel experiences three themes emerged that inspired the selection of this year’s nonprofits: 1) Women’s and girls empowerment; 2) Conservation of wildlife and wild lands; and 3) Access to medical care.
