I’ve seen test participants use salty language (yes, really) and even break into hard sweats (yes, really). Don’t tell them how to get past the problem, but just nudge with something like, “Can you look at the list of options in the top left and tell me if you find something which looks helpful?”

Summarize your problem children. The screenshot above is from TechSmith’s Morae but recordings from web conferencing tools like WebEx and GoToMeeting work just as well for quick testing. Speak your stakeholders language. Don’t share a lot of dull numbers. What should a recap of testing include? I want to hear them!
