The Humane Society of the United States raised $20,000 in 6 days , all through their cause, to fund a team of journalists documenting the seal slaughter in Canada. And Camfed raised $4,500 to build a roof on a school in Malawi , then turned around and funded another $3,386 project to give shoes to schoolgirls in Zimbabwe. .

Britt Bravo: In so many of the groups you profiled, the women were using the arts for education, empowerment, or healing. The children are ages 6-16, and they're making huge strides by leading a national movement against child rape in Zimbabwe.
